LG Smart TV with webOS

Point at what you want to watch.

On an LG TV the Magic Remote moves a pointer across the screen, and My TV Player follows it. Point at a channel, a program or a movie to select it and click to open it, or use the arrows and OK as usual.

Coming soon to the LG Content StoreCreate a free account

The LG app is not in the store yet. Set up your account and playlists on the web now, and your TV signs in with a code on the day it arrives.

Magic Remote

Pointing selects. Clicking opens.

The tile under the pointer lights up exactly as if you had moved there with the arrows. Nothing starts until you click, so you can look around before you choose.

Point at a tile to try it. It takes the focus the way it does on the TV.

  1. Point

Whatever is under the pointer takes the focus.

  2. Click

Press OK, the wheel in the middle of the remote, to open what you point at.

  3. Or use the arrows

The arrows, OK and Back work on every screen, with any LG remote.

On the TV

Live TV, the guide and your library, in one app.

Live TV that keeps the picture

The channel plays full screen while your groups and channels sit in a strip along the bottom. Point at a channel and click to tune it, or press channel up and down.

A guide you can read across the room

Channels down the side, the time across the top and a line where now is. Point at a program to select it.

Movies and shows, with My list

Each title has its own page with the details, a trailer and My list. Continue watching follows your account from your phone to the TV.

Catch-up

A page of its own, for channels where your provider keeps past programs.

Sport

Each profile follows its own sports, leagues and teams, with fixtures and standings.

Profiles and kids

Kid profiles get a daily limit and a bedtime. When time is up, a grown-up unlocks the TV with a PIN or a QR code.

Nine languages

Arabic included, laid out right to left, with the arrow keys mirrored to match.

Sign in with your phone, not the remote.

There is no email or password to type with the remote. The TV shows an 8-character code and a QR code, and you confirm it from a phone or computer where you are signed in.

  1. Open the app

The sign-in screen shows the code and a QR code.

  2. Scan or type

Scan the QR with your phone camera, or enter the code at mytvplayer.app/pair.

  3. Confirm on your phone

The TV signs in and your profiles appear, with the playlists you added on the web.

The code refreshes on its own before it expires.
